I work within your existing brand voice guidelines, or help you find your voice if you haven’t yet. I humanize your message, making it clear and emotionally resonant. My words are influential without creating undue pressure, leaving your readers feeling seen, informed, and free to make decisions they can stand by.
Writing Process

I start by learning about your brand purpose, mission, and values. We discuss the story you want to tell, why you want to tell it, and the strategic and emotional outcomes you need. I work to understand your audience’s motivations and values, and closely examine your existing brand voice guidelines.

Before writing, I submit a detailed brief that outlines key messages, audience considerations, tone of voice, grade reading level, the emotional experience we’re creating for readers, and the strategic goals for the piece. Once you sign off on the brief, the writing begins.

Guided by the writing brief, I draft your material in your unique voice, delivering on your requirements while following my principles of ethical, human-centered writing. I’ll add comments and questions for you to address, which will help improve the composition’s clarity and completeness.

You return the draft to me with your requested changes. I take a collaborative approach to refining the text, working with you to adjust for accuracy, tone, flow, clarity, and emotional relevance. All of my edits will be tracked, and I’ll add detailed comments and explanations where needed.

I incorporate your requested changes and comments, and catch any remaining spelling, punctuation, phrasing, or formatting issues. You receive a clean, ready-to-use version, along with any guidance that will further support your stated goals.
Editing Process

We discuss your project requirements, including what your message is, who will be reading it, and in what context. I learn about the type of editing you need and what your preferred style manual is. I obtain and study a copy of your in-house brand voice guide.

Depending on the type and level of editing you need, I examine your text’s vocabulary, punctuation, phrasing, flow, and/or structure. I complete tracked edits, add questions on items to clarify, and propose suggestions for improvement.

I’ll return the edited text to you, and you decide which changes to incorporate into the final version. You then return the document to me for the final editing pass.

I do a final cleanup of your document, and review your responses to my changes, comments, and questions. I make my last editorial decisions based on the 4 Cs of clarity, coherency, consistency, and correctness. I return the document to you, and you make the final decision on how the text looks and reads before publication.
